New Lois never had a full-fledged high school. Outside of the other high schools in Berrien County, they might have only played one other school that did have a real senior class - Sparks-Adel. They did, though, travel outside the county. They played schools in Cook County (Midway, Alpha, Lenox, & Twin Oaks), Lanier County (Crisp), and had at least one game with Lowndes' Pine Grove and also with King's Chapel, which nearly literally straddled the Lowndes-Berrien county line.

No gym was ever built at New Lois. Games were played outside on dirt. NL possibly even had two dirt courts with each squad getting their own. Until the big consolidation of 1954, the school continued to field junior high teams.

It looks as if New Lois was positioning itself to be considered a bigger school in sports. In 1940-41, they played two full-sized high schools outside of the county in Pine Grove and Sparks-Adel. Midway and Crisp were not only out of the county, they were both a better quality of opponent. Midway's boys had gone to the state tournament via the GHSA's short-lived Class D series of championships. Had World War II not occurred (and the tightening of purse strings on Berrien County sports that came along with it), it's possible that New Lois might have gained additional status, though they would have still closed in 1954.
