The Tournament
Teams: 10
How determined: 10 district winners.
Champion: Montezuma
School Title: 1st
Final Record: 27-5
Coach: Bill Martin
Notes: The Class C finals were postponed one day by GHSA chief Sam Burke. He was particularly concerned that the relatively small Porter Gymnasium could not hold all the rooters from Portal and nearby Montezuma.
Other Notes:
- Mansfield had no record entering the 1948 state tournament. Being the only Class C team in District Five, they were not required to win any games in order to qualify for the state tournament.
