The Tournament
Teams: 8
How determined:
Champion: Jeff Davis
School Title: 4th
Final Record: 20-1
Coach: Jimmy Connor
Notes: This was the final of four consecutive state championships won by Jeff Davis in the 1950s. They would also tack on a title in 1958 - a double crown, in fact, with their boys winning as well. The Yellow Jackettes had the priviledge of playing a talented 6'4" forward by the name of Shelva Johnson. Johnson lit up the tournament scoreboard for 58 against Winder, 52 against Tifton, and 20 against Baxley.
