- Briarcliff was supposed to be one of the teams participating in the AAA girls' tournament. They were yanked from the tournament by their school principal. He had determined that they had intentionally lost to Henderson in the sub-region tournament finals so that they could avoid playing Johnson of Gainesville in the opening game of the region tournament. Lakeside of Atlanta took their place in the tournament.
