Other Notes:
- The March 3 quarterfinal between Upson County and Dublin featured a bit of controversy at the end. In the closing seconds of the game, an Upson player was fouled. Upson's subsequent in-bounds pass was stolen, but the ball was knocked away before the Dublin player could score. At this point, the scorer noticed an error. The earlier Dublin foul was supposed to have sent the Upson player to the line. Officials huddled and after 30 minutes of debate, time was restored and Upson was awarded the one-and-one. They sank both. Dublin got the ball with four seconds left, but could not score.
Ultimately, Dublin protested the game. GHSA rules stipulated that an error can only be corrected by the time of the next dead ball. This case was baffling. What was the first dead ball after the error? Was it Upson receiving the ball out-of-bounds? Or was it when Dublin had the ball knocked away?
The GHSA ruled that the last four seconds of the game were to be replayed. On March 8 - the day before the winner was to face Gordon in the semifinals - the game was completed. Upson held on to win.
