Pairings were announced in the March 25, 1949 edition of the Savannah Morning News, but only an abbreviated list of scores were published the next day. Willcox Gymnasium was located at Georgia State, known now as Savannah State. Woodville and Cook County Training played in a morning session of games March 25. * The Savannah Morning News printed that Woodville had lost to the Brooks boys, 50-32 and to the Brooks boys, 28-11. The Woodville and Brooks girls played a semifinal, too. Despite being the wrong team and two boys' listings, 50-32 is likely correct. ** Though a Savannah-based school playing in a Savannah-based tournament, the Morning News reported that Woodville lost the consolation by default.
