When totaling points at the end of the game, the official scorer confirmed the 67-66 Valley Point win. Three other scorers (all non-official) told a different story. Their tallying had the scorer tied at 67. GHSA emperor, Sam Burke, ruled that only the totals reported by the official scorer counted. Valley Point ultimately lost to Telfair County in the finals.
