The Tournament
Teams: 16
How determined:
Champion: Berrien
School Title: 2nd
Final Record: 25-6
Coach: Dona Fields
Notes: When the GHSA determined the sites for their championships, I doubt that they considered that Wheeler might make the finals. Oddly enough, Wheeler was considered in the brackets as a southern team, yet their gym hosted the northern brackets. Fields started this season - her first season - at 2-2 and admitted after the season that she only expected to win half the games played. The six losses were her worst in her five seasons as Berrien's mentor. After this season, she and the Rebelettes went 108-5.
