The Tournament
Teams: 16
How determined: Region winner and region runner-up.
Champion: Wills
School Title: 1st
Final Record: 29-3
Coach: Charlie Neal
Notes: Sprayberry had the game well in hand with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter. They led by a comfortable 10, 64-54. Wills, seeing their championship hopes fade in a second consecutive season (their undefeated squad lost in the quarters in 1985), rallied. Sprayberry would score only two more points as the Tigers got 14.
