Additional notes
The Feb. 8, 1955 Carroll County Georgian said Glanton-Hindsman was named for a pair of teachers. At that time, Janie Glanton was still active. No first name was listed for Hindsman in the paper, but a document on the history of Carroll's Black schools noted his name was Corrie Hindsman.

The same edition of the Georgian said Hudson was named for Fed Hudson, who donated the land for Bowdon's first African American school.
