Year Minimum Foundation building program completed

Hall County and Gainesville city are separate school systems. They came together for African American schools, with Hall closing all theirs to be housed in Gainesville. Hall's building plan built a very large addition to Fair Street.

Fair Street replaced Summer Hill. E.E. Butler was a newer-built high school. The Gainesville Times in 2012 gave Fair Street's opening year as 1937.
