Year Minimum Foundation building program completed
1955.

Houston County Training was the biggest project in its county's building program. Included was money to remodel and add on to the old high school building and turn it into an elementary school. Also built was Southside Elementary at Elko and Pearl Stephens Elementary in Warner Robins.

Houston County Schools' website has a section about its former schools. There, it lists New Hope Elementary as being built in 1955. Part of it was. The building money for Southside, Pearl Stephens and a new high school building for Houston County Training added five classrooms and enlarged the building, according to the July 23, 1953, Houston Home Journal.

The schools weren't quite finished at the start of the 1955-56 school year and the Aug. 25 Houston Home Journal said school's start was being pushed back six days for their completion.

The new building seems to have switched the name from Houston High to Houston County Training.
