Year Minimum Foundation building program completed
1956.

Booker consolidated all African American schools in Lamar County at Barnesville. At this time, Barnesville city and Lamar County were separate school systems but both sent students to Booker after its completion.

Year of total integration
1970.

Lamar was one of a handful of school systems who went to single-gender schools in the immediate aftermath of complete desegregation.

Booker replaced Barnesville High & Industrial in 1956. Glenn Institute was an early school for Black students, pre-dating Barnesville High & Industrial.
