Year of total integration 1970. Butler-Baker was split upon total integration into a grades 3-6 elementary (Baker) and a grades 7-9 junior high (Butler). Putnam had considered splitting their high school into genders, but kept Putnam County High as the sole high school. PCHS' nickname did change from Blue Devils to War Eagles for the 1970-71 school year.
