New buildings for Ruth Carter in Talbotton, Geneva Elementary and John H. Woodall Elementary, which was located in Woodland.

Talbot was one of the school systems that sought a fresh identity with full integration. The combined high schools of Ruth Carter and Talbot County became Central, with a new nickname.
