Notes: Sports powerhouse! Won the GIA state football title in 1954, 1956, and 1962. The girls' basketball team took home the state crown in 1954 and 1955 while the boys did so in 1952 and 1956. Renowned actor Ossie Davis (born in Cogdell) graduated from Center and wrote in his autobiography that he was too small to play football, so he served as the team's waterboy. CHS jumped to the GHSA in 1968, their final year as a school.
