Final Record: 26-6
Coach: Gerald Turner
Notes:
Other Notes
- The GHSA nearly had its first forfeit because of failures to arrive in over 60 years. Severe weather was predicted on March 1, especially between Macon and Columbus. With the fears that the weather could strike while buses from Central (boys) and Northeast (girls) were en route, a Bibb County Board of Education representative refused to allow the teams to travel to Columbus State University. As no official severe weather alert had been issued, the GHSA stated that the teams show up or forfeit. Both sides stood their ground until a severe weather alert was issued for Columbus. The GHSA relented and allowed the games to be postponed until March 2. Both Central and Northeast won their delayed game, though both lost in the quarterfinals.
